This is one in a series of stories previewing each member of the 2026-27 Villanova Men’s Basketball roster.

Villanova graduate Wade Chiddick decided to return to the Main Line for a final season of college basketball over the summer. The former walk-on served as a practice player during the 2023-24 season, his sophomore year at Villanova, then officially walked on the following season.

With just three years of college basketball under his belt and the NCAA’s new five-in-five model of eligibility, Chiddick had a chance to play one more season.

A local product, Chiddick hails from King of Prussia, Pa. and attended The Westtown School alongside future NBA lottery pick Dereck Lively II. Named a Presidential Scholar during his time in high school, Chiddick also brings a great mind to Villanova. Even if he plays sparingly — he made the first two appearances of his career last season, netting three points across a pair of blowouts — he’s the type of presence the Wildcats clearly want in their locker room after bringing him back for a final season.

Look for Chiddick to earn another handful of minutes in reserve this season; like last year, he’s Villanova’s most experienced former walk-on and should get the first look in those sorts of situations.
