Phillies Prospect Watch: Seven Inning No-Hitter in Clearwater

Phillies affiliates went 3-2 on Wednesday, June 3, Single-A Clearwater sweeping their doubleheader and logging a seven inning — and therefore unofficial — no-hitter in the first game. 

Tanner Gresham got the 2-0 shutout going with five innings and eight strikeouts, while Gabe Craig earned the save with a scoreless seventh. Second baseman Robert Phelps, reigning Florida State League Player of the Week, went 2-for-4 with a double; Griffin Burkholder drew two walks and Alirio Ferrebus singled in both runs. The Threshers won the nightcap with four runs in the seventh, Phelps adding another double. 

Triple-A Lehigh Valley lost 5-3, starter Tucker Davidson knocked around for five runs in the second. Felix Reyes hit his seventh home run in the last 14 games as the IronPigs tried to rally back; right fielder Gabriel Rincones Jr. and catcher Caleb Ricketts added doubles.

Double-A Reading lost a 16-11 track meet, struggling right-hander Jean Cabrera shelled for nine runs in 1.1 innings. Despite the massive deficit, the Fightin Phils rallied back to take a 10-9 lead, but their bullpen couldn’t cover 6.2 innings and seal the win. 

2024 Phillies first round pick Dante Nori (3-for-6 with a steal) and Aroon Escobar (1-for-4 with two walks) each reached base three times, while shortstop Bryson Ware (2-for-4 with a double, a steal and two walks) one-upped them. Raylin Heredia added two steals but also committed an error.

High-A Jersey Shore won 5-4 with a tenth inning walkoff, catcher Luis Caicuto (2-for-4 with a double) providing the game-winning hit. Wen-Hui Pan earned the win with two scoreless innings and three strikeouts in relief. While Pan allowed a single in the tenth, outfielder Devin Saltiban nailed the ghost runner at the plate to keep Brooklyn off the board.
