Phillies affiliates went 0-3 on Friday, July 10, with a setback in Triple-A from 2021 first round pick Andrew Painter.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley lost 10-7, the IronPigs starting in a seven-run hole because of a brutal start from Painter, who walked four batters and allowed seven runs in 2.2 innings. Painter, who the Phillies sent back to Triple-A on June 18, made a pair of strong starts with the IronPigs before the setback.

Even with the early deficit, the IronPigs nearly battled back to tie the game, closing the gap to 8-7. Third baseman Otto Kemp went 3-for-4 with two home runs, and Felix Reyes also cleared the fences.

Double-A Reading lost 9-4. Alex Binelas enjoyed a strong day at the plate for the second game in a row, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and a walk. Second baseman Luke Ritter added a two-run home run, and catcher Kehden Hettiger went 3-for-4 with a double. Errors helped sink the Fightin Phils: of their nine runs allowed, only five were earned.

High-A Jersey Shore lost 5-2. Lefty starter Mavis Graves struggled with command, landing just 40 of 77 pitches for strikes in a three-inning, two-run outing. Graves walked and struck out four batters apiece. Catcher Luis Caicuto went 1-for-3 with a homer and third baseman Tyler Pettorini went 2-for-3 with a walk, the primary engines of the BlueClaws’ offense.

Single-A Clearwater endured a rainout, setting up a six-game slate for the affiliates on July 11.
