Could Donte DiVincenzo reunite with his Villanova teammates currently on the New York Knicks? Per a report from Kris Pursiainen of ClutchPoints, New York wants DiVincenzo, who they traded as part of a package for former Minnesota Timberwolves’ star Karl-Anthony Towns, ahead of the 2024-25 season.

DiVincenzo played at Villanova from 2015 to 2018, winning two national championships in that span: current Knicks Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges won alongside him in 2016 and 2018, while Josh Hart was his teammate for the first of those teams.

The Most Outstanding Player in the 2018 Final Four, DiVincenzo scored a career high 31 points off the bench in the National Championship game, aiding the Wildcats in a dominant 79-61 win. He signed with the Knicks ahead of the 2023-24 season, making his way into the starting lineup and helping the team to the second round of the playoffs alongside Hart and Brunson before the Towns deal sent him away.

Both the Timberwolves and the Knicks have championship aspirations which could make a trade difficult: New York also has limited draft picks after trading to farm for Bridges.

Nevertheless, the thought of four Villanova cornerstones reuniting is plenty for fans to get excited about.

For a related story, the Knicks are on the cusp of an NBA Cup Championship with the help of their Wildcats’ alumni.
