4-Star Jayden Forsythe Decommits From Xavier

Four star Philadelphia area recruit Jayden Forsythe reopened his commitment following the departure of Xavier Men’s Basketball head coach Sean Miller for Texas on March 23.
A 6-foot-5 wing who tips the scale at 190 pounds, Forsythe attends the Westtown School, a boarding academy in West Chester. While he’s currently listed at small forward, Forsythe can play the 2 or the 3, knocking down more than 40 percent of his three-point shots on more than 75 attempts as a junior.
Jayden Forsythe received a four-star ranking from 247Sports, which lists him as the No. 113 recruit in the country for the class of 2025. Prior to committing to the Musketeers, Forsythe received offers from teams like Butler, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State and Wake Forest (among a handful of others), providing a glimpse of where he might end up taking his talents. Given the relationship he’s already built with Miller, he could also end up with the Longhorns at some point in time.
Although Southeastern Pennsylvania (and Philadelphia specifically) is often a basketball powerhouse, the area doesn’t have a single recruit on the ESPN Top 100 for the upcoming class. Several players like Forsythe narrowly missed the cut, however, like 6-foot-10 center Matt Gilhool, currently attending Philadelphia’s William Penn Charter, and combo guard KJ Cochran of the Perkiomen School in Pennsburg.
Gilhool and Cochran are committed to LSU and Santa Clara, respectively, and ranked No. 90 and No. 127 in their class per 247Sports. At 190 pounds, Gilhool will probably spend a redshirt year bulking up, while Cochran’s two-way ability gives him a solid chance of working his way into the lineup early in the WCC.
