Philadelphia Area High School Basketball 2025 Recruiting Big Board
While basketball programs in the Philadelphia area didn’t see a single recruit make it on the ESPN Top 100 for the class of 2025 — a rarity for the region, typically thought of as a high school hoops paradise — 16 area recruits still managed to pick up a Division 1 offer.
All but one of those 16 committed to a Division 1 program, the lone exception being Spring-Ford shooting guard Jacob Nguyen, who decided to stay in the Philadelphia area and commit to D-II Jefferson over offers from Albany, Bryant, Bucknell and Drexel. Each of them received at least a three-star rating from one of the four major recruiting sites, and eight earned a national ranking from 247Sports.
Three recruits — 6-foot-10 William Penn Charter center Matt Gilhool, Westtown School wing Jayden Forsythe, who initially committed to Xavier but reopened his recruiting following the departure of head coach Sean Miller, and Perkiomen School combo guard KJ Cochran — received four-star ratings.
Forsythe is the lone area recruit with a Division 1 offer who hasn’t decided on his next home yet, but visited Tulane and West Virginia in recent weeks.
