William Penn Charter QB/ATH Tom McGlinchey Commits to Northwestern

William Penn Charter three-star quarterback/ATH Tom McGlinchey made his college decision on Tuesday, June 24, committing to Northwestern per a post to his Twitter (X) account.
The Wildcats offered him on June 17: McGlinchey also held Power Four offers from Syracuse, Notre Dame and Duke.
A quarterback during his first three years of high school, college teams began contacting McGlinchey about a potential switch to tight end this offseason once he made official campus visits. At 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, the 2026 recruit possesses the size of a prototypical downfield threat.
Tom McGlinchey spoke with Philadelphia Sports Now in May about his recruiting and the potential of playing tight end at the next level.
Wherever the school wants or needs me to play, I’m really flexible with that. I really just want to play division one football, and it does not really matter to me what position that is,” McGlinchey said. “If it is quarterback, if it is tight end, I think that is another strength of mine, that I have that flexibility to do both, do whatever a coach needs me to do. So I think it’s really just where they see me working in their system is where I’ll play.”
