Villanova Women’s Basketball Loses First Transfer of 2026
Villanova Women’s Basketball lost their first transfer of the offseason on Monday, April 6, with Canadian point guard MD Ntambue entering the portal per On3.
A rising sophomore with three seasons of eligibility remaining, Ntambue played sparingly during her first college season, appearing in 25 games and averaging 10.8 minutes, 1.5 points and 1.1 assists. Ntambue missed a handful of games to injury but helped run the offense when lead point guard Jasmine Bascoe came off the floor.
As she was waiting in the wings behind one of the best players in the Big East — Bascoe retains two seasons of eligibility — transferring could give Ntambue a shot at more consistent playing time. The Wildcats are set up well without her, as they added Romanian point guard Miky Panay to the roster in January.
As things stand right now, Villanova has five spots to fill on their roster heading into the 2026-27 season after losing four seniors to graduation: with Bascoe and Kennedy Henry seemingly reaffirming their commitment to the program, they’ll return four of five starters too.
