Villanova Makes Top Four for Transfer Target Jlynn Counter

The Villanova Wildcats need to fill seven spots on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, and one potential option to help them do so is Middle Tennessee State transfer Jlynn Counter.
Villanova made Counter’s top four on Saturday, April 12 along with Virginia Tech, Seton Hall and the College of Charleston.
Counter put up 10.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last season, his first with the Blue Raiders after two years in the Horizon League. A rising senior with one year of eligibility remaining, Counter stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 195 pounds. As of yet, he hasn’t announced any official visits to help him narrow down his options.
Other transfers on the table for the Wildcats include Big 5 product and Philadelphia native Zion Stanford, a rising junior who attended West Catholic Prep High School in West Philly. Stanford put up 13.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists with the Temple Owls last season, a 6-foot-6 small forward who made 45.4 percent of his shots and scheduled an official visit with Villanova for the weekend of April 11 per Jeff Neiburg of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Wildcats also hosted former Kentucky commit Acaden Lewis, an incoming freshman, for a zoom call on April 11, the same day he decommitted from the Bluegrass State’s Wildcats. A four-star point guard out of Washington, D.C., Villanova will need to outcompete teams like Duke, North Carolina and UConn for Lewis’ commitment.
