Villanova recruiting target Harun Zrno, a 6-foot-7 wing from Bosnia, appeared to have his college choice limited to the Wildcats and the University of Miami in recent weeks. Now, a mystery team has pushed both the Hurricanes and the Wildcats to the sidelines.

Per a report from college basketball insider Adam Zagoria, Zrno “is no longer considering Miami and Villanova, per source.” Zrno made a recent visit to the United States with the express purpose of visiting those two programs, so which Zagoria’s report gives no indication of who else is in the market for Zrno’s talents, seeing those programs wiped off the board entirely comes as a shock.

Jeff Neiburg of the Philadelphia Inquirer pointed out changes to Zrno’s Instagram account, where Zrno removed a highlight reel for the upcoming 2025-26 season… one that included pictures of his official visit to Villanova.

That’s college basketball in the freewheeling era of Name, Image and Likeness deals. Much the same thing happened to the Wildcats during their attempt to recruit transfer Rodney Rice, who initially seemed set to choose between Villanova and Tennessee. Instead, USC swooped in with the Brinks truck, leaving both teams empty-handed after suddenly joining the fray.

Although Zrno looked like an excellent bet to join the Wildcats in recent days, they still need to fill at least four spots on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
