Villanova Offers Lanky 2028 Combo Guard Browne
Villanova Men’s Basketball offered 2028 combo guard Mazari Browne, a 6-foot-6, 185 pound rising junior, per an announcement to his Twitter (X) account on Saturday, May 16. He currently attends West Nottingham Academy in Colora, Md., roughly midway between Baltimore and Philadelphia.
The Wildcats mark Browne’s second Division I offer and his first from a high-major program, potentially giving them a leg up on his recruiting. He also holds offers from Fairfield and La Salle. While Browne doesn’t yet have a star rating next to his name, that could change with the increased attention a Villanova offer will provide him. 247Sports lists Browne at small forward instead of his preferred combo guard, but with two additional seasons to grow before he enrolls in college, a position switch isn’t entirely out of the realm of possibility.
Right now, Browne displays a knack for scoring in bunches, posting multiple games with 20 or more points for West Nottingham as a sophomore. He also posted at least one double-double, showing his ability to rebound from the guard position, and his length will help him defend a multitude of positions at the next level.
West Nottingham played a challenging schedule against some of the best programs in the Northeast last season, a trial through fire that gave Browne valuable experience against future Division I athletes.
