Villanova Knicks Go Off in Win Against Sacramento

The Villanova Knicks had themselves a game on Saturday, Jan. 25, with each of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges clearing the 20-point hurdle in New York’s 143-120 win over the Sacramento Kings.
Brunson, who received his second straight All-Star Game nod earlier this week — named to the exhibition’s starting lineup for the first time in his career — put up 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting, including a 66 percent clip from three point range. That gave Brunson 5,000 points for his Knicks career in a mere 190 games, the fastest player in franchise history to hit that milestone, surpassing legends of the game like Carmelo Anthony and Bernard King in doing so.
Jalen Brunson has recorded his 5,000th point as a Knick. He is now the fastest Knick to reach 5,000 points (190 games) passing Bernard King and Carmelo Anthony (191 games).

Brunson also added 11 assists, as did Hart, who notched his sixth triple-double of the season, scoring 20 points and snagging 18 rebounds, two steals and a block.
Bridges scored 27 points on a red hot 10-of-15 shooting (5-of-7 from three) along with five rebounds and seven assists. The authoritative win further solidified New York’s hold on the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference as they improved to 30-16 on the season.
Up next for the Knicks — and their Villanova trio — is a Monday, Jan. 27 home game against the Memphis Grizzlies, the No. 3 seed in the West, set to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
