Villanova in the Pros: Jordan Longino Invited to Rockets Mini-Camp
Villanova alumnus Jordan Longino landed on the Houston Rockets’ 2025 Summer League roster, earning a chance to prove he belongs in the NBA or the developmental G-League.
Longino enjoyed a breakout 2024-25 season after struggling to live up to his billing as a top 100 recruit out of high school. The 6-foot-5, 215 pound Doylestown native averaged 11.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as the Wildcats’ third-leading scorer, scoring double digit points on 21 separate occasions: he did so just eight times during his first three college seasons.
Summer League invites represent the lowest tier of NBA audition as compared to two-way deals or Exhibit 10 contracts. Longino will face an uphill battle to even make the roster of the Rockets’ G-League affiliate, but the invitation speaks to the body of work he put in last season to change the narrative surrounding his career.
In other news, former Villanova forward Lance Ware, who spent the 2023-24 season with the Wildcats after three seasons with Kentucky and later joined UT Arlington for his final college season, earned a Summer League invitation from the New York Knicks. Ware averaged close to a double-double with 13.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game last season, and now he’ll have a chance to carve out a place in an organization that already rosters three Villanova alumni: Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges. The Knicks’ announcement lists him as a center.
Longino’s invitation makes him the third member of the 2024-25 Wildcats to earn a professional audition, joining Eric Dixon and Wooga Poplar.
