Villanova Men’s Basketball alumnus and all-time leading scorer Eric Dixon is on the move, with the Greensboro Swarm trading him to the Memphis Hustle on Tuesday, Feb. 10, per a league release. They’re the G-League affiliates of the Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies, respectively, and Greensboro will receive Evan Gilyard and the returning player rights for Armando Bacot in exchange.

Dixon, 25, led the NCAA in scoring last season but went unselected in the 2025 NBA Draft, signing with the Los Angeles Lakers as an undrafted free agent. A foot injury held him out of the summer league, preventing him from making a case to break camp with the Lakers.

Dixon spent time on the Hornets during the preseason, where he rejoined former Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune, who took up a role as an assistant in Charlotte during the offseason. He didn’t make the big league team out of camp, however, and appeared in 27 games (four starts) for the Swarm this season, averaging 11 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists across 18.4 minutes per game. Dixon will suit up alongside fellow Villanova product Tyler Burton, who spent the 2023-24 season with the Wildcats, in Memphis.
