Villanova Guards Jeffrey, Chiddick Undergo Surgery
Villanova Men’s Basketball announced in a Friday, Dec. 19 press release that guards Chris Jeffrey and Wade Chiddick both underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery during the week. Jeffrey, a true freshman, averaged 10.5 minutes, 4.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game this season; Chiddick, a senior and a former walk-on, made his Villanova debut against Sacred Heart in November.
Jeffrey missed the Wildcats’ home opener against Queens (N.C.) with a right ankle injury but has appeared in each of their other nine games. He logged nine minutes their last time out against Pitt.
Neither guard has a return timetable yet, per the release. Jeffrey’s surgery aimed to correct an issue that began before his time at Villanova and recently flared up, while Chiddick sustained his in mid-November.
Villanova Team Surgeon Dr. William Emper performed both operations. The Wildcats will conclude their out-of-conference schedule on Dec. 19, when they take on the Wisconsin Badgers beginning at 8 p.m.
