Villanova Football Flips 2026 Running Back from CAA Foe

Villanova football earned the commitment of 2026 running back Brandon Way Jr. on Wednesday, June 25, flipping him away from Coastal Athletic Association opponent Bryant.
The Wildcats offered him on June 18, and he also held a Power Four offer from Syracuse.
A true workhorse back, Way racked up 1,816 yards on 217 carries during his junior year at Pennsylvania’s Lancaster Catholic, adding 28 touchdowns and averaging 8.6 yards per carry… and close to 20 carries per game.
He also reportedly runs a 4.5 second 40 yard dash. In addition to head coach Mark Ferrante, Way tagged Villanova receivers coach Nathan Pagan and running backs/special teams coach Joshua Fletcher as two of the assistants playing a role in his recruiting.
While flipping a recruit away from a conference rival gives fans an opportunity for bragging rights, the Wildcats won’t have much of a chance to gloat. They’ll depart the CAA for the Patriot League following the 2025 season, before Way sets foot on campus. Bryant only joined the CAA in 2024, so they aren’t entrenched rivals either, but pulling a player with Power Four potential marks a big win for the Wildcats’ recruiting efforts.
