This is one in a series of stories previewing each member of the 2026-27 Villanova Men’s Basketball roster.

Adam Oumiddoch committed to Villanova in March as the first member of their 2026 recruiting class after decommitting from St. John’s the month prior.

Already 19, he’s older than the average college freshman and has an idea of the rigors of a Division I schedule, playing 27 games last season against other top recruits with Atlanta’s Overtime Elite Academy. A four-star recruit ranked No. 54 in the class of 2026, Oumiddoch is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard who averaged 28.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game during his final year with OTE. Oumiddoch took 42 percent of his shots from beyond the arc and made 38.6 percent of them, supplementing his shooting with a strong game in transition; scouts have also praised his layup package.

Villanova head coach Kevin Willard said after the Wildcats’ preseason win over George Mason that Oumiddoch needs to continue building strength as he prepares for college competition; that’s in line with his scouting report as a recruit, which said he’ll need to use his shooting talent to balance out his defense.

Early Flashes

After a modest showing against Rutgers, Oumiddoch put up 12 points, five rebounds and two assists against George Mason as Willard tinkered with various small-ball lineups. Film of his championship game performance with OTE in March 2026 showed him willing to make the extra pass, giving up his own open looks in order to create opportunities for his teammates. He’s also a threat in transition and has received praise from scouts for his layup package.

The NCAA’s new five-in-five rule and Willard’s stated intention to play top recruits early in their careers in order to have them commit to Villanova means Oumiddoch should see plenty of minutes this season. Expect him to slot in at the two behind Tyler Perkins and Jake Fiegen, or behind Devin Royal at the three in dedicated small-ball lineups. Matt Hodge’s ongoing recovery from ACL reconstruction means Oumiddoch will have more playing time — and a chance to prove himself — early in the season.
