Temple Football Sees Four Players Earn NFL Invitations
Temple Football saw four players earn a chance at playing on Sundays after the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft: outside linebacker Cam’Ron Stewart signed as an undrafted free agent, while wide receiver Kajiya Hollawayne, long snapper Isaiah Hayse and quarterback Evan Simon all received rookie minicamp invitations.
Stewart, a 6-foot-5, 250 pound redshirt senior, notched five sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss and 33 total tackles during his lone season in North Philadelphia: he also spent time at Rutgers and Oklahoma. The edge rusher agreed to a contract with the Minnesota Vikings.
Simon also split his career between Rutgers and Temple. Standing 6-foot-3 and tipping the scale at 205 pounds, Simon completed 189 of 313 passes as a redshirt senior, throwing for 2,097 yards (6.7 yards per attempt, 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He also gained 226 yards on 59 carries, filtering out some of the yardage lost to sacks, and found the end zone twice. That earned him a tryout from the New York Giants.
The 6-foot-4, 210 pound Hollawayne earned an invite from the Kansas City Chiefs after hauling in 39 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns, while Hayse keyed a field goal unit that converted on 11 of 14 kicks, including eight of nine from inside 39 yards. He’ll try out for the Baltimore Ravens.
As things stand right now, Stewart has the best shot of making the 53-man roster out of training camp, but only 10 to 20 percent of undrafted free agents make it through summer cuts. Hollawayne, Hayse and Simon will need to make an immediate strong impression to even lock up a practice squad spot.
