Saint Joseph’s University Men’s Basketball raked in conference awards for their performance this season, headlined with head coach Steve Donahue winning A-10 Coach of the Year honors.

Donahue took over on Hawk Hill in September after former head coach Billy Lange left for the New York Knicks. Saint Joseph’s went through immediate growing pains, beginning with an 8-7 record and losing their first two conference games. They also lost leading scorer Deuce Jones II, who departed the team ahead of the holiday break. From there, the Hawks went 13-3 in conference play, locking up their first double bye in close to a decade and securing the No. 3 seed in the conference.

Saint Joseph’s also saw a trio of players earn All-Conference honors.

Senior guard Derek Simpson (13.7 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 5.2 APG, 1.5 SPG) landed on the first team; sophomore and lead scorer Jaiden Glover-Toscano (15.8 PPG, 4.9 RPG) made the second team, while Austin Williford (7.8 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 1.2 APG) made the All-Rookie team. The Hawks will begin their postseason run at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13 in the quarterfinal round of the A-10 Tournament.

La Salle freshman Ash Walker also landed on the All-Rookie team, putting up 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Explorers.
