Phillies affiliates went 1-2 on Wednesday, April 29 with a rainout for Triple-A Lehigh Valley and plenty of offense in Single-A Clearwater. Defensive stalwarts like right fielders Carter Mathison (High-A Jersey Shore) and Manolfi Jimenez (Clearwater) continue to improve at the plate after slow starts to the season.

Mathison, a 2024 fifth round pick, powered the BlueClaws’ offense in a 5-4 11th inning loss, going 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI; Jimenez went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk in the farm system’s lone win of the day. The Threshers hit three doubles and two homers on the day; catcher Alirio Ferrebus went 2-for-4 with a two-bagger, while center fielder Nathan Humphreys went 2-for-5 with a double and a walk.

Left fielder Nolan Beltran reached base four times, homering and drawing a walk, while third baseman Juan Villavicencio also cleared the fences. Notable arms for Clearwater included Phillies 2025 fifth round pick Gabe Craig, who struck out two batters but also gave up two runs in one inning of work.

Double-A Reading lost 6-2. Top outfield prospect Dante Nori went 1-for-4 with a double, while Dylan Campbell, a 2023 draft pick out of Texas, went 1-for-4 with a double but continues to struggle at the plate.

Third baseman Brady Day rounds out the prospect report for High-A Jersey Shore: the 2024 tenth round pick logged a single and two walks.
