Big East Adds Injury Reports for Conference Games
The Big East just got a whole lot more transparent. Per a press release from the conference posted on Friday, Dec. 12, “The BIG EAST Conference will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes in conference games in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball.”
The release states that programs must submit the reports three hours before their scheduled game times and will designate players as “questionable” or “out” as the situation demands. The conference will post the reports on their respective men’s and women’s basketball pages, found at the corresponding hyperlinks.
Villanova Men’s Basketball typically publicizes their injury reports about an hour before games start, including what ails the players that land on it. That’s rare among college athletics. Now, the rest of the Big East will follow suit.
