Villanova Men’s Basketball picked up their second win in a row on Tuesday, Nov. 11, defeating Sacred Heart 94-60 as they launched 43 shots from beyond the arc and landed 22 of them, a new program record. Bryce Lindsay led the charge with nine makes, breaking another program record, while Devin Askew made seven more and contributed 27 points off the bench.

Former Villanova guard Allan Ray, one of four players to hold the previous program record for threes in a game, said at halftime that his record was going down after the Wildcats dropped 52 points in effortless fashion.

While a November Multiple Team Event can only tell so much about this Villanova team’s chances heading into conference play, the Wildcats’ offense is gelling early after bringing in 11 new faces via recruiting and the transfer portal. Villanova picked up 28 assists on the night, four shy of a program record, as efficient ball movement created open looks… and their shots began to fall.

Head coach Kevin Willard says the team still needs to improve defensively, a fair assessment after Sacred Heart converted on 12 threes of their own in a fast-paced small ball matchup, but there’s plenty for Wildcats fans to feel excited about with a young team in just their third game together.

Here’s the reaction from college basketball fans and media as the Wildcats took on and took down the Pioneers.
