Villanova Men’s Basketball issued an offer to Will Brunson, a four-star forward recruit in the class of 2028. Brunson, who plays for New Jersey’s Rutgers Prep, announced the offer in an Instagram post. The sophomore stands 6-foot-5 and ranks as the No. 32 player in his class according to 247Sports.

Film of his game against Linden — high school camera angles permitting — shows him using his frame to drive to the basket, kicking the ball back out to the perimeter, and then continuing the play by setting up under the basket for a put-back: there’s already a lot to like about his offensive skill set.

Currently listed as a wing/small forward, Brunson still has plenty of time to grow: he has some of the skills you’d expect out of a smaller guard, but his best positional fit at the next level might depend on how much he does or doesn’t grow. Brunson also holds offers from Rutgers, NC State, Auburn, Notre Dame, Mississippi State and Seton Hall, among others.

As of right now, Villanova is prioritizing recruiting the younger classes, as four of their five starters this season have one or more years of eligibility remaining. The Wildcats don’t yet have a commit in the class of 2026, but that could change after a recent offer.
