Villanova Men’s Basketball will take the court for live game action beginning on Sunday, Oct. 19 when they host the VCU Rams at the Finneran Pavilion. With the 2025-26 season fast approaching, the fall practice slate began on Monday, Sept. 22.

The men’s basketball team posted video highlights of their first official practice to their social media accounts two days later. The clip, located here, begins with a pre-practice speech from new head coach Kevin Willard.

“Focus on getting better, focus on what the team needs to do to get better: just worry about what you can control,” Willard said. “Great attitude every day, walk through that door ready to work every day, and that’s it. That’s all I expect. We get better and better and better every day… let’s start our journey.”

The practice montage shows the Wildcats partake in dribbling drills, working on layups, dunks and three-point attempts, and even a half court scrimmage.

Following their two game preseason slate, Villanova will begin their 2025-26 season on the road in Las Vegas for a likely top ten matchup with BYU on Monday, Nov. 3.
