Former Villanova Wildcat Josh Hart notched his third triple-double of the 2024-25 NBA season on Monday, Dec. 30, helping his New York Knicks defeat the Washington Wizards 126-106.

Hart scored 23 points, his season best, for the second time in his last three games, adding 15 boards and 10 assists to complete the feat in a team-leading 41 minutes. Often serving as the Knicks’ fourth scoring option behind Karl Anthony-Towns and fellow former Villanova stars Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges, Hart is still averaging 14.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game this season, not to mention his key defensive presence.

The Knicks currently sit at 23-10 on the season, the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference and just half a game behind the Boston Celtics. Hart’s triple-double powered them to their eighth straight win, the longest active streak in the conference.

Bridges posted 13 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals in the win over Washington, while Brunson contributed 18 points, three rebounds and six assists.

Each of the Knicks’ three Villanova alumni sits among the NBA’s top six in minutes played this season, a testament to their grit and determination in the era of load management. Bridges leads the pack with 1,289 minutes, Josh Hart ranks fourth with 1,186, and Brunson rounds out the top six with 1,152; Bridges holds the NBA’s longest active ironman streak, having played in all 507 games possible since his career began in 2019.

The Knicks will be back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 1 when they host the Utah Jazz at 7:30 p.m.
