Villanova Men’s Basketball lost another member of their starting backcourt on Sunday, April 5, with multiple reports announcing Bryce Lindsay’s intentions to enter the transfer portal. Lindsay confirmed the reports by reposting them on his Instagram story.

A 6-foot-3 shooting guard with two seasons of eligibility remaining, Lindsay got off to a fast start with the Wildcats, ranking among the nation’s best in scoring for much of the out-of-conference schedule. Enjoying his first full season as a starter, Lindsay went through an extended shooting slump as Big East play began, averaging less than ten points per game for a six week stretch.

He snapped out of the funk in an overtime win at Xavier and put on a strong showing in the Wildcats’ Round of 64 loss to Utah State, finishing the season with an average of 12.3 points per game while making 36 percent of his three-point shots.

Lindsay’s next home will mark his fourth in four years, as he began his college career with a redshirt year at Texas A&M before winning the Sun Belt’s Sixth Man of the Year award at JMU in 2025.

With starting point guard Acaden Lewis also announcing his intention to transfer or enter the NBA draft, the Wildcats have at least three starters and eight overall roster spots to fill heading into the 2026-27 season: lead forward Duke Brennan is out of eligibility.
