Villanova Forward Nnanna Njoku Hits Transfer Portal

The Villanova Wildcats will have another spot to fill on their roster ahead of next season, as redshirt junior forward Nnanna Njoku hit the transfer portal after it opened on Monday, March 24, per a report from Jamie Shaw of On3 Sports.
A member of the ESPN Top 100 for the class of 2021, Njoku never panned out with Villanova. He appeared in at least one game in each of his four seasons with the Wildcats but retains a year of eligibility after earning a medical redshirt for the 2022-23 season, when he earned just seven minutes and 54 seconds of playing time as a result of injuries.
Njoku suffered a season ending injury in each of the past two seasons as well, with arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in January 2025 and a procedure to repair the other knee the previous year. Because of that rash of injuries, Njoku possesses a strong chance of successfully applying for another medical redshirt to extend his collegiate career… if he so desires.
Njoku put up 20.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks during his senior season at the Sanford School in Hockessin, Delaware, nailing 72 percent of his shots and converting on 73 percent of his trips to the charity stripe, an excellent scoring presence in the paint. Both the Big Five and the Big East recruited Njoku heavily during his initial recruiting cycle, as he received offers from Temple, LaSalle, Providence and Marquette, as well as teams like Virginia Tech and Pitt.
