Villanova Football dismantled New Hampshire 37-7 on the road on Saturday, Oct. 4, but that wasn’t enough for the Wildcats to improve from the No. 18 slot in the Stats Perform FCS poll on Monday afternoon. The AFCA Coaches Poll, meanwhile, promoted Villanova three spots to No. 17.

The Wildcats (3-2, 2-1 CAA) picked up their first road win of the season and won their second conference game in a row, riding a three carry, three touchdown game from rotational tailback Ja’briel Mace, who earned CAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors against William & Mary the week prior.

Villanova is one of three CAA teams in the top 25, alongside No. 12/No. 11 Monmouth and No. 17/No. 18 Rhode Island. Elon, who the Wildcats will travel to face on Saturday, Oct. 11, also received votes in the coaches poll.
