Villanova Football added their second linebacker in as many days on Sunday, Feb. 1, with 2026 Bishop Guilfoyle product Jake Kissell announcing his commitment in a social media post.

Kissell won the 2024 PIAA 1A state championship and made it back to the title game this past season: he initially made a campus visit in March 2025. He played quarterback, running back and receiver for Bishop Guilfoyle in addition to racking up 177 tackles and 13 sacks on the other side of the ball. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds heading into his senior season, he played with both linebacker groups and even at defensive end, but probably fits best as a middle linebacker at the Division I level.

Villanova lost linebackers Shane Hartzell and Richie Kimmel to graduation at the end of the 2025 season, so Kissell could earn playing time early depending on how he acclimates in summer practices.

The Wildcats also picked up a commitment from New Jersey running back Jonah Glenn, who racked up 1,092 yards and 14 touchdowns on 139 touchdowns as a senior.

Kissell and Glenn’s additions leave Villanova with 17 spots to fill on their 2026 roster.
