St. Joseph’s Prep DL Alex Haskell Flips to Syracuse
St. Joseph’s Prep defensive lineman Alexander Haskell, a three-star in the class of 2026, flipped his commitment to Syracuse on Wednesday, Oct. 22, shortly after decommitting from Penn State.
The 6-foot-4, 265 pound prospect is one of a flood of recruits to pursue other options in the wake of Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin’s firing; he initially committed to Penn State in May. While Haskell initially appeared to remain firm in his commitment rather than saying that he’d look into other options, he ultimately made that announcement on Oct. 21… then flipped his commitment 18 hours later.
Haskell has won three straight state championships with the Hawks, picking up 5.5 sacks as a member of last year’s loaded roster. He split time between playing 3-technique and 5-technique as a junior. As of right now, his frame and speed project him as more of an edge rusher at the next level.
Syracuse possesses a 3-4 record as of Oct. 23, their second year under head coach Fran Brown.
