POLL: How Will Villanova MBB, WBB Perform in the NCAA Tournament?
Villanova Men’s and Women’s Basketball both made it back to the NCAA Tournament this season, ending three and two year droughts, respectively.
The men’s team finished as the No. 3 team in the Big East during the regular season but flamed out in their first game of the conference tournament after losing forward Matt Hodge to an ACL tear. Nevertheless, they managed to earn a No. 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament, pitting them against Utah State in San Diego in the Round of 64.
Villanova Women’s Basketball made a run to the Big East title game, losing to national No. 1 UConn in that matchup. Despite a strong résumé, the Wildcats struggled to earn national respect and slotted into the Big Dance as a No. 10 team, setting them up to face a streaky Texas Tech squad in the opening round.
