Phillies affiliates went 1-2 on Thursday, May 14, with center fielder Griffin Burkholder continuing to star. The 2024 prep pick went 2-for-3 with a walk for Single-A Clearwater, boosting his OPS for the month of May to a red-hot 1.209.

Errors with two outs from Matt Ferrara and Jonathan Hogart contributed to a five-run eighth inning that sealed the Threshers’ fate in an 8-0 loss, however. 2025 12th round pick Tyler Bowen was on the mound but only gave up one earned run as a result of the snafu; fellow 2025 pick Gabe Craig finished the game with 1.1 scoreless innings.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley won 6-3 with four IronPigs reaching base at least twice; third baseman Otto Kemp (4-for-4 with two doubles and a walk), who began the year with the Phillies; center fielder Steward Berroa (2-for-4 with a home run and a walk), catcher Paul McIntosh (2-for-4 with a double) and shortstop Christian Cairo (2-for-4).

Double-A Reading saw their game postponed due to inclement weather; High-A Jersey Shore lost 6-0. Shortstop Jose Colmenares (2-for-4), first baseman Raider Tello (1-for-3 with a double and a walk) and designated hitter Luke Davis, who walked twice, all created opportunities, but the BlueClaws went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position.  Right-hander Reese Dutton pitched 5.2 innings of two-run ball and earned the loss.
