Villanova Men’s Basketball will begin their 2026 Big East Tournament run at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, facing the winner of the previous day’s matchup between No. 6 seed DePaul and No. 11 seed Georgetown.

After entering the season picked to finish seventh in the conference’s coaches poll, the Wildcats (24-7, 15-5 Big East) locked up the No. 3 seed with a week to play, placing their chances of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament at close to 100 percent in their first season under head coach Kevin Willard. Villanova swept both Georgetown and DePaul in the regular season, although both teams gave them substantial trouble at times.

If they win the first game, they’ll likely face No. 2 UConn in the conference semifinals, assuming one of No. 7 Marquette and No. 10 Xavier doesn’t manage to knock the Huskies off in the quarterfinals. The Wildcats have made a habit of proving the doubters wrong this season, but they also suffered sweeps at the hands of both UConn and No. 1 seed St. John’s… and are without freshman starter Matt Hodge, who went down with a season-ending ACL tear on Feb. 28.

How do you think Villanova will perform in the Big East Tournament?
