Phillies Prospect Watch: Healthy Keaton Anthony Hits Two Homers

Phillies affiliates went 3-2 on Friday, June 12, with first baseman Keaton Anthony continuing to rake since his return to health. Triple-A Lehigh Valley swept their doubleheader; Anthony hit a pair of two-run homers, providing the IronPigs with valuable insurance in each game. Felix Reyes recorded three singles, two of them coming the previous day before rain suspended the game, while Otto Kemp drew three walks.

Starting pitcher Alan Rangel went 4.2 innings in the second game, allowing two runs and striking out five batters. Shortstop/left fielder Christian Cairo went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Double-A Reading ended up on the losing side of a 13-12 track meet, scoring three runs in the ninth to push the game to extras before falling in the tenth. The Fightin Phils hit four home runs, including blasts from catcher Kehden Hettiger (1-for-4 with a walk), right fielder Raylin Heredia (2-for-5 with a double) and shortstop Erick Brito, who went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a walk.

High-A Jersey Shore amassed ten hits and five walks but lost 11-3. Second baseman Nick Biddison (2-for-5) homered and left fielder Joel Dragoo doubled; catcher Kodey Shojinaga reached base four times, putting up two singles and two walks, while third baseman Tyler Pettorini hit three singles.

Jonathan Hogart powered a 4-2 win for Single-A Clearwater, hitting a three-run home run. Left fielder Nathan Humphreys went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, while starting pitcher Ramon Marquez fanned six across five innings, allowing a pair of runs.
