Villanova Men’s Basketball needs to fill at least five spots on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, and they’ll need to use the transfer portal to do so as the high school recruiting season winds down.

One potential target for the Wildcats is Maryland transfer Rodney Rice, who has a visit to the Main Line scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 10. Rice, who has two years of eligibility remaining, was the third leading scorer on the Terrapins, contributing 13.8 points per game. He did so through nailing 37.4 percent of his 214 three point attempts, also adding 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

The Wildcats have targeted a number of players from the Maryland Terrapins, new head coach Kevin Willard’s former team, and they’ve already successfully picked up two.

Rice also has an official visit to Tennessee set to begin on April 12. Villanova missed out on top Terrapins point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie, who transferred to Tennessee, so there’s a legitimate chance that Rice follows his former teammate to Rocky Top… but it helps that they’ll get the chance to court his services before the Volunteers do.

Other Wildcats targets include former Terrapin Braden Pierce, who has visits to Penn State and Villanova on his itinerary and Michigan State guard Tre Holloman, who put up 9.1 points and 23.1 minutes per game for a team that made the Elite Eight. Holloman currently has visits to Villanova, NC State, Baylor and UNC scheduled.
