Villanova Men’s Basketball made the top five for 2026 four-star forward Alex Egbuono, who visited campus over the weekend per his Instagram.

A 6-foot-6 wing out of the Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts, 247Sports ranks Egbuono as the No. 75 player in his class. Also included in his top five are Auburn, Stanford, Boston College and Big East foe Marquette.

The Wildcats don’t yet have any commitments in their 2026 recruiting class, but head coach Kevin Willard prioritized picking up players with multiple years of eligibility remaining when attacking the transfer portal this offseason. They’ve also been active on the recruiting trail with the 2025-26 season set to begin in barely two weeks, recently hosting 7-foot-1 center and fellow four-star Favour Ibe on a campus visit.

Ibe’s ties with the Villanova coaching staff date back to June 2024; that’s when he received an offer from the University of Maryland, Willard’s former home. That tie could give the Wildcats an advantage in his recruiting, as could the fact that they currently roster one of his high school teammates, Chris Jeffrey.
