Villanova Football recently offered a pair of 2026 recruits: tight end, offensive and defensive lineman Luke Van Auken, and defensive lineman/left tackle Patrick Degnan.

Van Auken, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 255 pounds, is a two-sport athlete at New Jersey’s Delsea Regional High School who plays power forward on the basketball court and could end up receiving recruiting there in addition to football. With an 84 inch wingspan, he could turn into a nasty downfield threat as a Division I tight end.

Van Auken tagged Villanova linebackers coach Forrest Rhyne, offensive line coach Sean Devine and receivers coach Nathan Pagan as some of the assistants helping to recruit him, which doesn’t really narrow down where the Wildcats might envision him ending up on the gridiron.

The rising senior also holds offers from schools like Maine, Bucknell, Lehigh and UConn.

Degnan, meanwhile, stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 290 pounds, a menace in the weight room who already possesses a college ready frame with another year to go in high school.

He also boasts offers from a similar range of schools as Van Auken, including Maine, Bucknell, New Hampshire and Georgetown.

Degnan tagged Devine in his offer post, perhaps indicating that the Wildcats want him on their offensive line. They initially hosted him on a visit back in March.
