Villanova Men’s Basketball added a surprise 2026 commitment on Wednesday, June 3, with point guard Carter Fisk announcing his intention to join the Wildcats in an Instagram post.

The 6-foot-2 incoming freshman fills one of their biggest remaining roster needs, that of a backup point guard. However, as he’s largely unheralded as a prospect — Fisk doesn’t have a star ranking on 247Sports, for example — they could look to add another player to run the point.

Villanova first offered Fisk in December 2025; he chose them over bids from Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, and Penn State along with a number of mid-major programs. His addition leaves the Wildcats with five more open spots to fill on next season’s roster. Beyond the potential to add another point guard, their chief need is a big man. 7-foot-4 Italian center Luigi Suigo is the most likely candidate, and he’s expected to make a decision between the NBA, Villanova and BYU in the next 10 days.
