Villanova 4-Star Target Alex Egbuono Sets Commitment Date
Villanova Men’s Basketball recently made the top five for 2026 four-star forward Alex Egbuono, who plans to announce his commitment on Thursday, Nov. 6, according to Sam Kayser of 247Sports.
Egbuono, a 6-foot-6 forward out of Lawrence Academy in Groton, Mass., listed Auburn, Boston College, Marquette and Stanford as the other teams in his top five. He currently ranks as the No. 51 player in the ESPN Top 100 for his class, and took a campus visit to Villanova in mid-October.
247Sports marks his interest for Boston College and Marquette as warm, but he doesn’t have a crystal ball prediction yet, giving the Wildcats a chance at making the cut. The recruiting site describes Egbuono as a physical athlete capable of using his height, but says that he’ll need to polish his shot and other finesse elements like footwork.
The Wildcats currently have no recruits in the class of 2026, although head coach Kevin Willard prioritized recruiting young players in the transfer portal this offseason so that he wouldn’t have to replace as many players on a year to year basis, as is customary in the freewheeling era of the transfer portal.
