Phillies affiliates went 3-1 on Friday, Aug. 14, with Gage Wood continuing to build up his stamina. Although Double-A Reading lost 5-2, Wood, the Phillies’ 2025 first round pick, completed five innings on 81 pitches, his longest professional outing in terms of outs recorded.

Although he recorded six strikeouts, two homers and three earned runs allowed stuck Wood with the loss. Pedro Leòn (2-for-4), Raylin Heredia (2-for-4) and Carson DeMartini (1-for-3 with a walk) all doubled in a comeback bid that came up short.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley won 13-1, piling on in the late innings. 38-year-old Tommy Pham reached base five times and knocked in six runs, including a grand slam in the sixth. Shortstop Dylan Moore doubled three times, while Gabriel Rincones Jr. walked and hit a two-bagger of his own after checking in as a defensive substitution after a hit by pitch knocked Felix Reyes out of the game.

High-A Jersey Shore gutted out a 2-1 win, carrying a no-hitter into the bottom of the eighth. The BlueClaws managed just two hits, singles from Devin Saltiban and Juan Villavicencio, but stolen bases and errors helped them scrape two runs across. Single-A Clearwater won 12-10, outlasting a furious comeback. 2026 outfield pick Caden Bogenpohl (4-for-5 with a homer), shortstop Matt Ferrara (2-for-3 with two steals), catcher Will Vierling (three doubles) and second baseman Reece Moroney (3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk) all got on base early and often; the Threshers’ pitching staff had a game to forget.
