Phillies Prospect Watch: Aidan Miller Makes Triumphant Return

Phillies affiliates went 3-1 on Saturday, Sept. 5, with top shortstop prospect Aidan Miller making his 2026 debut in a rehab assignment for Single-A Clearwater after missing the majority of the season with a back injury. Miller, the Phillies’ 2023 first round pick, doubled and walked across three plate appearances in his first game back, departing after five innings in a scheduled ramp up.

He also showed his rust in the field, committing a fielding error on the first ball hit his way. The Threshers won 8-2. Infielder Nolan Beltran (3-for-5, center fielder Victor Cardoza (1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly) and designated hitter Matt Ferrara (1-for-4 with a walk and a steal) also doubled, and Tyler Bowen earned the win with two scoreless innings and four strikeouts in relief.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley won 8-6 with a three-run push in the ninth. Kameron Misner (3-for-5) homered and Gabriel Rincones Jr. (1-for-1) contributed a pinch-hit double in the game-winning rally. High-A Jersey Shore won 7-5 behind a 3-for-5 day from catcher/first baseman Kodey Shojinaga, who singled, doubled and homered. Right fielder Wuilfredo Antunez (2-for-4 with a walk) also cleared the fence.

Double-A Reading endured a 9-0 thrashing. Shortstop Bryan Rincon (1-for-3 with a walk and a double) and second baseman Aroon Escobar (2-for-4) were two of four Fightin Phils to reach base twice, but they couldn’t scratch any runs across.
