Villanova Women’s Basketball Releases Nonconference Schedule, Big 5 Tournament

Villanova Women’s Basketball announced their 2026-27 out-of-conference schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 25, revealing their opponents for the first month of the season and providing some clarity on the Philadelphia Big 5 schedule.

The Wildcats will begin their season in Rome, Italy on Sunday, Nov. 1, facing Notre Dame in the Eternal City tip-off. Their home opener will come on Nov. 12 against Merrimack; other highlights include Big 5 pod play at home against La Salle (Nov. 24) and on the road against Temple (Dec. 1), and a marquee matchup against perennial powerhouse LSU in the Fort Myers Tip-Off (Nov. 27).

The Women’s Big 5 Tournament will take place on Dec. 6 at the Palestra, pitting the Wildcats against one of Saint Joseph’s, Drexel and Penn. Villanova will also play their full 20-game Big East schedule, home-and-home series against each of their ten conference opponents, and will host Fairleigh Dickinson in a one-off preseason game on Sunday, Oct. 18.
