Villanova Men’s Basketball Offers Top 2028 Recruit Kameron Mercer

Villanova Men’s Basketball offered 2028 recruit Kameron Mercer, a 6-foot-5, 200 pound sophomore point guard who already holds a five-star billing from recruiting sites like On3; ESPN lists him as the No. 5 player in his class. Mercer announced the offer via his social media accounts on Sept. 22. 

A native of Huntington, W.Va., Mercer now participates in Atlanta’s Overtime Elite, a basketball prep league that pays athletes a minimum salary of $100,000 as they prepare for the rigors of college or the NBA. 

Mercer currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Florida State, Louisville, Missouri, Georgia State, Maryland, UCF, NC State and Xavier, and is sure to see his recruiting pick up even more steam over the next three years. Describing himself as a point guard in his Twitter bio, other sites expect him to switch to shooting guard on account of his size… and if he continues to grow, Mercer could even fit in at the 3 or the 4.
