Villanova Football Recruiting
Villanova Football Offers New Jersey RB, DL
Villanova Football offered a pair of 2027 recruits in early May, running back Roman Coney and defensive lineman/running back Thomas Ajasin.
Coney attends New Jersey‘s St. Augustine Prep — a natural fit for the nation’s only Augustinian university — and racked up 987 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior; he stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 205 pounds.
Ajasin already has the body of a defensive lineman, standing 6-foot-3 and weighs 250 pounds. He picked up two sacks, ten tackles for loss, 64 total tackles and a pair of forced fumbles as a junior at New Jersey’s Rancocas Valley Regional High School.
Villanova also continues to put out recruiting feelers for future classes, with 2029 lineman prospect Luke Landis (Clearview High School, N.J.), tagging Wildcats’ offensive line coach Sean Devine and thanking him for visiting his school; Landis recently visited the Main Line for a spring practice.
New Wildcats receivers coach Matt O’Connor — who took over for Nate Pagan, now with the Kansas City Chiefs — visited Darien High School (Conn.), Londonderry High School (N.H.) and Chelmsford High School (Mass.) on a recent New England recruiting swing. O’Connor met with 6-foot-4, 300 pound offensive line prospect Isaac Leeper, a member of the class of 2027, while at Londonderry.
Villanova offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Chris Boden rounded out the recent slate of school visits with a trip to Reading, Pa., visiting 2027 quarterback prospect Riley Martinez (Milford Prep).
