Villanova Football Bolsters O-Line With Tackle Prospect
Villanova Football keeps pulling in 2027 recruits, earning the commitment of 6-foot-6 offensive tackle prospect Matthew Wagner according to a Thursday, June 4 announcement to Wagner’s Twitter (X) account.
Wagner attends Milton High School in the Boston suburbs. Already 280 pounds and the owner of more than half a dozen Division I offers, his frame makes him a natural fit at tackle. With another season to hit the weight room — he bulked up from 265 pounds since the 2025 season ended — Wagner might not need the physical development that most offensive line recruits require in order to hold their own against college defensive linemen.
Wagner’s recruiting picked up steam this spring: his first offer came from UMass Amherst on April 2, and bids from Rhode Island, Merrimack, Holy Cross and Sacred Heart came flooding in in the weeks that followed. He helped keep Milton quarterback Patrick Collins clean amidst a record setting season for one of the top high school programs in the Commonwealth in recent seasons.
Wagner joins fellow Massachusetts offensive lineman Jack Warren and tight end Michael Schlachter (Downingtown, Pa.) as offensive commits to join the Wildcats in recent days. Click here for more Villanova Football recruiting news.
