Villanova Assistant, Alumnus Dwayne Anderson Finds New Role

Former Villanova assistant coach Dwayne Anderson II has found a new job per a report from Dylan Johnson of the Villanovan, joining the UCF Knights’ coaching staff as an assistant: similar to the role he fulfilled with the Wildcats from 2021 to 2025.
A 2009 Villanova graduate, Anderson joined his Alma Mater as a member of the basketball operations department after a half decade professional playing career overseas and time at Penn State as an assistant.
Despite his longstanding ties to the Wildcats, Anderson landed on the outside looking in following the hiring of new head coach Kevin Willard, who brought in his own assistants from Maryland instead of retaining the existing staff: the only member of the Wildcats’ coaching group with any tenure is assistant Ashley Howard, a key cog in their recruiting efforts.
Anderson joins a Knights team that ended Villanova’s season in the College Basketball Crown semifinals back in April: he’ll serve under head coach Johnny Dawkins, who possesses close to three decades of coaching experience… much of that as the head man.
